Champions League: Mbaye Niang absent from AC Milan's list because of the error of club manager

French player Mbaye Niang is absent from the list of 25 players appointed by AC Milan to play in the Champions League group stage, because of an error of the Director of the club's organization, Umberto Gandini, AC Milan announced on the 03/09/2013.

The Italian manager admits "not having taken into account in the drafting of such UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) legislation that allows the inclusion in list B of the players born after the 01/01/1992 with at least two seasons playing for the club between the ages 15 and 21-years-old"

This settlement (Article 18 of the 2012/13 Champions League Regulation) allowed for example to put on list B an additional Italian striker, Stephan El Shaarawy, born on the 27/10/1992, which would have freed a place for Mbyae Niang on list A.

Umberto Gandini said he "regrets this error and apologizes to all parties concerned and professionally to the Rossoneri fans."
