European cups: UEFA launches the bidding in Spain for the 2018-2021 audiovisual rights

UEFA has launched the bidding for the 2018-2021 audiovisual rights to the Champions League and the Europa League, valid in Spain, announced the European body on 16/05/2017. Candidates must submit their bid by 20/06/2017.

• The Spanish television groups Atresmedia, Mediapro, and TV3 acquired the audiovisual rights, for Spain, to the Champions League for the 2015-2018 period on 24/09/2014. The rights cover all broadcasting platforms (television, internet, and mobile). The cost of the total acquisition of the three groups is estimated at more than €135m per season, a price similar to that paid during the 2012-2015 cycle by the public television groups TVE and TV3, as well as by the pay-TV group Canal+ España (now acquired by Telefonica).
• Mediapro and beIN Media Group are the rights holders to the Europa League in Spain for the 2015-2018 period.
