Vassilios Skouris (GRE) was elected chairman of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the FIFA Independent Ethics Committee for four years at the 67th FIFA Congress in Manama (Bahrain) on 11/05/2017. The former President of the European Court of Justice will succeed the judge Hans-Joachim Eckert (GER). Maria Claudia Rojas (COL), former president of the Colombian Council of State, has been elected chairwoman of the Investigatory Chamber of the Ethics Committee, where she succeeds Cornel Brobély (SUI), former prosecutor of Canton of Zurich.

The two chairpersons and members of the Independent Ethics Committee (see below) have been appointed for four years and will immediately take up their duties (Article 52, paragraph 5, of the FIFA statutes).

"The Independent Ethics Committee is one of FIFA’s judicial bodies. It is primarily responsible for investigating possible infringements of the FIFA Code of Ethics. Since 2012, it has been divided into two separate chambers - the investigatory chamber and the adjudicatory chamber," said FIFA.
