Belgium: French-language group Proximus extends its TV rights to the Jupiler Pro League (2017-2020)

The Belgian private-sector audiovisual group Proximus TV (French language) has extended its non-exclusive broadcasting rights to the Jupiler Pro League for the 2017-2020 period, the broadcaster announced on 15/05/2017. The Belgian private audiovisual groups Telenet (Dutch language) and VOO (French language) had previously extended their non-exclusive rights to the Jupiler Pro League for the same period on 02/05/2017.

Proximus TV has obtained the live broadcast of eight games per matchday without constraint on the delivery method (Lot 1), and the near-live and delayed broadcast of match highlights on Internet and mobile platforms (Lot 4 ). The Belgian media groups Persgroep Publishing and Mediahuis have also acquired the rights of Lot 4. "Considering the agreements concluded to date, and with the majority of the international rights still to be marketed, the €80m in TV revenues per season has already been passed," said the Jupiler Pro League on 15/05/2017.
