Spanish Grand Prix: Banco Santander uses ex-footballers of LaLiga and Ferrari drivers to promote GP

The Spanish bank Banco Santander has organised the "Santander Challenge" on the Barcelona circuit (ESP) in the build-up for the Spanish Grand Prix (12-14/05/2017), on Thursday 11/05/2017. The bank, a partner of the Scuderia Ferrari and the title sponsor of LaLiga (LaLiga Santander), brought together Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, and Marc Gene, the three drivers of the Italian F1 team, along with Fernando Morientes, Christian Karembeu, and Marcos Senna, three ambassadors and former football players of LaLiga.

During the "Santander Challenge", the drivers and ex-footballers formed inter-disciplinary duos and competed against each other in go-kart races, football, and a quiz based on Formula 1 and football, in front of fans and partners.

Banco Santander became a sponsor of Scuderia Ferrari in 2010, when the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso drove for the Italian F1 team. The sponsorship contract runs through 2017.
