Matchday 38, the final matchday of the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season, drew an average attendance of 28,650 spectators per game (average stadium fill rate of 83%), on 21/05/2017. This is best matchday for the Ligue 1 season in terms of attendence. The average attendance of the French league reached 21,078 spectators per game in 2016-17 (average stadium fill rate of 69%).

Olympique de Marseille - SC Bastia (1-0) drew the best figure of the weekend, with 55,178 spectators at the Orange Vélodrome (94% fill rate). OM drew more than 54,000 spectators for each of their last three home games of the season.

Five games of Matchday 38 drew more than 25,000 spectators, and seven out of ten matches recorded a fill rate of at least 85%.
