Manchester United FC (Premier League) won the 2016-17 Europa League final, 2-0, over AFC Ajax (Eredivisie), on Wednesday, 24/05/2017 at the Friends Arena (50,653 capacity) in Solna (near Stockholm, SWE), at 20:45 CET.

Manchester United thus qualify directly into the group stage of the 2017-18 Champions League. Ajax, for its part, are still qualified for the 3rd qualifying round of the 2017-18 Champions League by virtue of having finished second in the 2016-17 Eredivisie table.

Additionally, the contract between adidas and Manchester United states that if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League two seasons in a row (either via the Premier League or by winning the Europa League), the annual amount paid will decline by 30% in the third season, from £75m to £52.5m (from €86.7m to €60.7m, as of 23/05/2016).

So the Mancunian's club Europa League thus maintains the kit supplier contract at £75m.
