The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, who, at the 2017 French Open at Roland-Garros, is aiming for for a record 10th title at the tournament, is the player with most followers on the social network Twitter, among the players taking part in this Grand Slam, with 12.5 million followers, as of data on 29/05/2017.

Nadal's figure is 5 million more than the Serbian Novak Djokovic (2nd) and the Swiss Roger Federer (3rd), the later absent from the 2017 edition of the French Open. If Andy Murray (4th, 3.7 million) is included, the leading quartet exceed 31 million cumulative followers on Twitter, nearly 68% of the total amount of the Top 100 most followed men's players at the 2017 French Open (45.7 million followers in total).

The lowest number in the Top 100 most followed tennis players on Twitter is 10,000 followers. Amongst the players unknown to the general public, but with many followers on the social network are the two Indian players Leander Paes (43 years old, 8th in the ranking with 1,025,269 followers) and Rohan Bopanna (37 years old, 15th in the ranking with 342,098 followers) …
