The American sports equipment brand New Balance will replace Umbro, a American brand of British origin, as the official kit supplier of the Irish national football team, announced the Football Association of Ireland on 26/05/2017. This partnership, which will be in the first level of FAI's sponsorship hierarchy, will take effect from 01/08/2017.

The last contract signed between the two parties spanned 10 years (2010-2020), for a total amount estimated at €26m ($27.7m at 03/04/2017) by British specialised media.
