The weekly Ligue 1 match televised on Sunday evenings (kick-off at 20:45 CET from 14/08 to 18/12/2016, then at 21:00 CET from 15/01 to 07/05/2017) enabled Canal+ to register an average audience share of 23.2% for the 2016-17 season, according to the pay-TV group on 24/05/2017. Canal+ drew an audience of 1 million viewers on average, with the highest viewers on average of 1.8 million for the two games, Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique de Marseille (0-0), on 23/10/2016, and Olympique de Marseille - Paris Saint-Germain (1-5), on 26/02/2017.

"Canal+ Sport is the first channel to broadcast a Saturday afternoon game for its subscribers (17:00 CET), thanks to the weekly Ligue 1 game. The best audience for this time slot for the 2016-17 season was AS Monaco FC - Olympique de Marseille (4-0), which drew 800,000 viewers on average, on 26/11/2016," said Canal+.

The best audiences for a Friday night match (20:45 CET), on the pay-TV channel Canal+ Sport, are those for Paris Saint-Germain - AS Saint-Etienne (1-1), on 09/09/2017, and FC Metz - Olympique de Marseille (1-0), on 03/02/2017, which drew…
