Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) defeated Juventus (Serie A TIM) 4-1 in the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League final at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff (Wales) on Saturday 03/06/2017.

Real Madrid, the 2016-17 Spanish champions, thus became the first team to win back-to-back Champions League editions since AC Milan (Serie A TIM) won two consecutive finals in 1989 and 1990. Since then, four clubs have had the opportunity to achieve this, by winning the Champions League and then reaching the final the following season, though AC Milan (1994, 1995), AFC Ajax (1995, 1996), Juventus (1996, 1997), and Manchester United FC (2008, 2009) were all unsuccessful.
