The EPFL will hold an Extraordinary General Assembly to discuss cooperation and relations with UEFA, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva (SUI) on Tuesday, 06/06/2017, from 11:00 to 14:00 CET, announced the European Professional Football Leagues on 02/06/2017.

The European leagues (EPFL), "reiterated their serious concerns with respect to the reform of UEFA's club competitions for the 2018-2021 cycle and its detrimental impact on the competitive balance of domestic competitions and on the development of professional football as a whole," they said at the EPFL General Assembly in Porto (POR) on 31/03/2017.

"The EPFL's goal is to enhance and protect competitive balance in league competitions in the interest of all its member leagues and the vast majority of professional clubs and national association in Europe," added the Leagues, who are also worried about some big clubs wanting to have the games of the European cup competitions, from the quarter-final onwards, played during the weekend (see below).
