French Rugby: Le Coq Sportif to succeed adidas as the kit supplier to the FFR for 2018-2024 (press)

The French sports equipment brand Le Coq Sportif has won the bid to be the kit supplier of the French national rugby union team and the 7s team for the 2018-2024 cycle, according to French media group RMC Sport on 03/06/2017. The FFR steering committee, who met on the same day, preferred this bid to the German sports brand adidas, who has been the kit supplier of the Blues since 01/07/2012, and until the end of 2017. The annual amount paid by adidas is valued at €5m by specialised media.

Le Coq Sportif would have presented the best financial offer, "while making a commiment to accompany the amateur world," according to RMC Sport. The brand will provide shirts to rugby schools affiliated to the FFR, according to the French newspaper Midi Olympique on 03/06/2017. Le Coq Sportif was the kit supplier to the French national rugby union team throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
