Twitter: 13.12 million followers in total for the 20 Ligue 1 clubs (June 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative 13.12 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/06/2017. Ligue 1 ranks fourth among the European Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, the Premier League, and the Serie A TIM, with an average of 656,080 followers per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remain the most followed French club on Twitter, with 4.52 million subscribers, up 50,307 (+1.1%) compared to the beginning of May 2017. Olympique de Marseille (2^nd, 1.98 million), AS Monaco (3^rd, 1.47 million), and Olympique Lyonnais (4^th, 1.12 million) also have more than one million Twitter followers.

At +3.2% (from 1.43 to 1.47 million), AS Monaco are the Ligue 1 club which posted the best percentage growth on Twitter in May 2017.

Dijon FCO (63,915 followers), Angers SCO (72,471), and AS Nancy-Lorraine (73 654) are the three French clubs with fewer than 100,000 followers. Only five clubs have gained more than 5,000 new followers. This is the lowest total for the Top 5 leagues.
