Twitter: 10.62 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (June 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 10.62 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/06/2017. The Bundesliga - which surpassed 10 million followers in March 2017 - is the least followed European Top 5 league on Twitter, with 590,396 followers on average per club.

Bayern Munich remain the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.6 million followers, an increase of 58,881 (+1.7%) compared to the beginning of May 2017. The Bundesliga is the only Top 5 league in which no club has more than 4 million followers.

Hamburger SV (from 497,041 to 509,682) became the fourth Bundesliga club to exceed 500,000 Twitter followers, RB Leipzig (98,812 to 101,384) is the sixteenth club to exceed 100,000 followers. SV Darmstadt 98 (69,359 followers) and FC Ingolstadt 04 (62,643 followers) are among the seven teams of the European Top 5 leagues with less than 100,000 followers.

At 3.9% (from 179 324 to 186 290), SC Freiburg are the Bundesliga club which posted the best percentage growth on Twitter in May 2017.
