Facebook: 231.41 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (June 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative total of 231.41 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/06/2017. This total makes the LaLiga Santander the second most followed European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with 11.57 million fans on average per club.

Real Madrid CF are the most followed club on Facebook with 102.95 million fans, an increase of 1,084,785 (+1.1%) compared to early May 2017. Real Madrid and Barcelona now count over 205 Million fans, or 88% of the total of all LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the combined total of the 58 clubs in the Serie A TIM, the Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.

At 12.6% (from 87,180 to 98,194), Deportivo Alavés are the LaLiga Santander club which posted the best percentage growth on Facebook in May 2017. 17 Spanish clubs drew more than 1,500 new fans in May 2017.
