Facebook: 70.58 million fans in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (June 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative total of 70.58 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/06/2017. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and Serie A TIM, with an average of 3.92 million fans per club.

Bayern Munich remain the most followed German club, with 42.2 million fans, an increase of 292,509 (+0.7%) since the beginning of May 2017. No other Bundesliga club drew more fans than Bayern in the past month.

At 4.7% (from 295,761 to 309,693), RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga club which posted the best percenrage growth rate on Facebook in May 2017. Since the start of 2016-17 season, Leipzig have recorded a 88% increase in fans to its Facebook page (the high mark of all Top 5 league clubs), benefiting in particular from the club's strong sporting results in the Bundesliga (2^nd in the final 2016-17 table).
