Formula 1: the Twitter and Facebook communities of the drivers (June 2017)

The 18 drivers of the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship who have an official Twitter account on 13/06/2017, have a cumulative 14.555 million followers on the social network as of the same date (two drivers, the German Sebastian Vettel and the Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen do not have an official account).

This represented an average of 808,662 followers per driver. The 18 drivers gained a cumulative 508,972 followers during the month of May 2017 (+3.6%). Figures continue to rise after a gain of 303,123 followers in April 2017 (+2.2%).

Britain's Lewis Hamilton (4.49 million followers) and Spaniard Fernando Alonso (2.57 million) are the two drivers with the highest Twitter followers on 13/06/2017. Between the two, they concentrate almost half (49%) of the Twitter follower base of the 18 drivers with official Twitter accounts in the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship.
