2017 Confederations Cup: full broadcast on free-to-air in Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom

The 2017 Confederations Cup will be broadcast in full on free-to-air in three countries of the European Top 5: Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. In France, eight of the 16 matches will be on free-to-air whereas in Italy, the entire competition will be broadcast on a pay-TV channel.

• In Germany (the only country in the European Top 5 taking part in the competition as the defending world champions), the public TV channels ARD and ZDF will broadcast 13 of the 16 matches (seven on ARD and six on ZDF) . The remaining three matches will be broadcast on the free-TV channel Sport1, which has acquired the rights, sub-license from SportA, on 10/05/2017. The first match broadcast by Sport1 was Portugal-Mexico, 2-2, on Sunday 18/06/2017 (kick-off at 18:00 local time, 17:00 CET).

• In Spain, the Spanish DTT channel GOL will broadcast the entire competition. Mediapro acquired the broadcasting rights on 11/06/2017.

• In the United Kingdom, the free private TV channel ITV, which acquired the rights to the 2017 Confederations Cup on 07/06/2014, will broadcast the entire competition on ITV 1…
