Champions League: strong growth in audiences on all digital platforms for 2016-17

The official Champions League website and its mobile apps generated more than 134 million visits in 2016-17 (as of 06/06/2017), an increase of more than 10% compared to 2015-16, announced the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) on 12/06/2017. The official application to the competition was downloaded more than double the amount compared to the 2015-16 season to reach 10.5 million users worldwide on 06/06/2017, said UEFA.

The official Champions League page on the social media network Faceook is the most followed sporting competition in the world, with 63 million "likes". The Facebook page recorded more than 300 million views on its videos, including 56 million in the week from 29/05 to 04/06/2017, including the Champions League final, Juventus (Serie A TIM) - Real Madrid (LaLiga Santander) (1-4, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday, 03/06/2017).

On the micro-blogging platform Twitter, the Champions League account drew over 12 million followers throughout the 2016-17 season. The Champions League Twitter account reached 15.6 million during the week…
