2017 Confederations Cup: 853,000 viewers in total in France on TMC for the first 2 matches

The opening match of the 2017 Confederations Cup, Russia-New Zealand (2-0, Group A), drew 270,000 viewers on average in France on TMC, the free DTT channel, on Saturday, 17/06/2017 (Kick-off at 17:00 CET). This represented an audience share of 3% for the TF1 channel, which recorded a peak audience of 375,000 viewers.

Portugal - Mexico (2-2, Group A), drew 583,000 viewers on average on TMC on Sunday, 18/05/2017 (kick-off at 17:00 CET). The game recorded a peak audience of 783,000 viewers.

These matches are the first two of the eight encounters broadcast on the free DTT channel of the TF1 group in France (see below). The 2017 Confederations Cup is broadcast in full on the pay-TV channel SFR Sport, whose audience figures was not communicated. SFR Sport obtained the rights for the entire competition, sub-licensed by TF1, on 15/04/2017.
