Australia - Germany (2-3, Group B), the first match of the German national team at the 2017 Confederations Cup, drew 6.07 million viewers on average during the game on the German public TV channel ZDF on Monday, 19/06/2017 (kick-off at 17:00 CET).

This represented an audience share of 39.6% and enabled ZDF to rank first in the German TV market for prime-time of 19/06/2017. This game drew the lowest average audience for a German national team match since News Tank began carrying out its survey (see below).

For ZDF, this was the second broadcast of the 2017 Confederations Cup after Cameroon - Chile (0-2, Group B), which drew 2.56 million viewers on average on Sunday, 18/06/2017 (kick-off at 20:00 CET). Audience share: 9.4%.
