Première Ligue Convention: "It is a little like the Cannes Festival of pro football" (B. Caïazzo)

"This convention is a little like the Cannes festival of (French) professional football, with a very clear intention on our part to continue this event (annually). Perhaps in the future, it will last several days and will include several countries," stated Bernard Caïazzo, president of the Première Ligue, a union of primarily French first division clubs, on 23/06/2017, ahead of the second edition of the Convention of French Professional Football to be held in Cannes (FRA) on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28/06/2017.

"The LFP and the UCPF (union of all French professional football clubs) have teamed up with the Première Ligue this year to organise this event, which demonstrates a common desire to remain united and supportive of the major challenges of our professional football. Together, we are stronger and will be more numerous. We had 200 participants in 2016, and we will be close to 300 this time, including more than 90% of the presidents of French clubs present," added Bernard Caïazzo, who is also the chairman of the supervisory board of AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1).
