FIFA: consultation meeting on the fight against doping in sport, on the 29/11/2013

A consultation meeting on the fight against doping in sport will be held on the 29/11/2013, by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) in collaboration with WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) and several international sports federations.

Anabolic agents in sports, individual biological profile of athletes, Autologous blood transfusion, Erythropoiesis stimulating agents (production of red blood cells by the bone marrow), Ethical and legal considerations, and WADA and CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) perspective, are the main topics to be discussed.

Following the conference, a group of experts will form a panel to draft a consensus statement for publication in the BJSM (British Journal of Sports Medicine). The expected journal publication of the outcome statement will be May 2014.
