AS Roma: "In a few months we will say everything about the new stadium" (James Pallotta)

"In a few months we will say everything about the new stadium," said James Pallotta, American President of AS Roma (Serie A), on the 10/09/2013. The club wants to build a 60,000-seat stadium, to leave the Rome Olympic Stadium (80,000 seats) it shares with Lazio.

"We have been working for 18 months to build a stadium in Rome. The legal framework is very complex. The construction cost will be high, but I do not want to tell you how much," said the president and majority shareholder (60%) of AS Roma. In December 2012, several Italian media mentioned the sum of €210m to build this new arena.

"Construction of the stadium will be complicated in terms of funding and sustainability in general. Better not to make hasty judgments. Anyway, the new stadium is not on the agenda and it is not our priority," said Paolo Fiorentino, Deputy CEO of Unicredit banking group, minority shareholder of the club (40%) on the 11/09/2013.
