LaLiga Santander: RCD Espanyol open an academy reserved only for young Asians in Spain

RCD Espanyol (LaLiga Santander) have opened an academy reserved only for young Chinese and Asian players in Sabadell, a city north of Barcelona (ESP), from 2017-18, announced the club on 14/06/2017. This academy was opened in partnership with the Chinese club HLK Football Club.

"This new academy has the particularity of attracting foreign talents who reside in Catalonia and is attached to all the academies and schools of our club both in our surroundings and in different countries of the world," explained Espanyol. The centre will be managed by Manuel Angel Romero, former youth coach of Espanyol.

Ramon Robert, CEO of the club, and Weimei Zhan, head of the HLK, signed the partnership that sealed the project.

• RCD Espanyol finished 8^th in the final ranking of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander Spanish first division (20 clubs); naming rights contract to the bank Santander since 2016. with 56 points (15 wins, 11 draws, 12 losses).
