Poland: Polsat acquires broadcast rights to the European cups for 2018-2021 cycle (official)

The Polish pay-TV group Polsat has acquired the broadcast rights, in Poland, to the Champions League and Europa League for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 26/06/2017. These rights are valid across all broadcast platforms.

UEFA launched the tender in Poland for the media rights to the Champions League and the Europa League for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 17/03/2017. Candidates were required to submit their bid no later than 06/04/2017. The Polish media announced the acquisition of only the Champions League broadcast rights for the 2018-2021 cycle by Polsat on 30/04/2017.

The pay-TV group NC+, a Polish subsidiary of the pay-TV group Canal+, holds the TV rights to the European cups for the 2015-2018 cycle. The Polish public TV group TVP has sub-licensed the TV rights to the matches of the Polish teams involved in the competitions. The pay-TV group Eurosport holds the broadcast rights to the Europa League alone for the 2015-2018 period.

  • Polsat was the holder of the TV rights to the Champions League in Poland for the 2001-2006 period and to the European cups for the 2009-2012 period.
