More Twitter followers of Barca than in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 combined

FC Barcelona (La Liga champions in 2012/13), who have more than 17.7m subscribers on Twitter, total more than the Premier League (10.6m), the Bundesliga (1.5m), Serie A (2.8m) and Ligue 1 (1.9m) combined (16.8 million).

FC Barcelona have several Twitter accounts, facilitating an accumulation of followers. Their English page totalled 9.5m subscribers, against 4.7m fans for the Spanish page and 3.3m for the page in Catalan.

In Europe, behind Barcelona are Real Madrid (2^nd in Liga 2012/13) who have the second most followers (over 11.1m). The two Spanish clubs are far ahead of all the others, since the third club, Arsenal (fourth in the Premier League in 2012/13) only have 2.5m followers, or 4.4 times less than Real.
