Montpellier Hérault SC: death of President Louis Nicollin, on the day of his 74^th birthday

"It is with utmost sadness that we learn of the death of our president, Louis Nicollin, on Thursday, 29/07/2017. All our thoughts our with his wife Colette, his children Olivier and Laurent, his family, his loved ones, and all the lovers of 'la Paillade' whom he loved so much," announced Montpellier Hérault SC (Ligue 1 Conforama) on 29/06/2017. Louis Nicollin was the victim of a heart attack on the day of his 74^th birthday.

"After becoming the president of the Montpellier club in 1974, Louis Nicollin passed away on Thursday at the age of 74. Under his presidency, MHSC won a Coupe de France in 1990 and the Ligue 1 title in 2012. Louis Nicollin has also worked hard for the development of women's football," stated the FFF on 29/06/2017.

"I am very sad because Louis Nicollin was a great guy, a great football figure, I am sad for his family and his club, it was sometimes excessive, but we must not forget that he is the one who has made his club from A to Z, nor that he was a great entrepreneur," said Gervais Martel, president of RC Lens (Domino's Ligue 2) on 29/06/2017.
