Media: Atresmedia group acquires broadcast rights to the Spanish King's Cup

Spanish media group Atresmedia has acquired the broadcast rights to the Copa del Rey (King's Cup, also called the Spanish Cup) for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons, on the 09/09/2013.

Under the agreement with Mediapro agency, Atresmedia will broadcast a game of each round of the Spanish Cup, except the final, whose rights are held by public group TVE. Broadcast will begin during the third round in 2013/14, that is to say, on the 16/10/2013, and in the second round in 2014/15.

The group will air the fixtures on general free channels, Antena 3 and laSexta. Atresmedia also acquired the Internet and mobile rights to the King's Cup, and will launch a dedicated platform to live broadcast the matches.

Atresmedia also bought the rights to broadcast the Liga Adelante, Spain's second national division, on the 05/09/2013. The rights cover the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
