Bundesliga: Johannes Kaluza succeeds Harald Strutz as president of 1.FSV Mainz 05

Johannes Kaluza, 62 years old, has been elected as the president of 1.FSV Mainz 05 (Bundesliga) during the extraordinary assembly on Sunday, 25/06/2017. Johannes Kaluza won a majority of the votes at the end of the second round with 498, against 458 for Jürgen Doetz, former vice-president of the association. The newly elected president will succeed Harald Strutz, 66 years old, who was the head of 1.FSV Mainz 05 for 28 years.

"Johannes Kaluza will in the future serve as a link between the full-time executive committee of 1.FSV Mainz 05 and the supervisory board, a newly created and also elected body (see below)," said the club on 25/06/2017.

"This day is undoubtedly the biggest that I have experienced in football and I would like to thank the members for their trust placed on me after the end of the tenure of Harald Strutz. We want to build a new era with new people and with the participation of all members in the democratic process," said Johannes Kaluza on 25/06/2017.
