Brazil 2014: Cape Verde eliminated, Tunisia reinstated for the third qualifying round, African zone

Initially eliminated, Tunisia will finally participate in the third qualifying round for the 2014 World Cup for the African zone, FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) announced, on the 12/09/2013. Cape Verde, which beat the Tunisian team (0-2) on the 07/09/2013, has been sanctioned by the International Institution for fielding Fernando Varela, initially suspended.

FIFA's disciplinary committee has declared the match to be forfeited, and awarded victory 3-0 to Tunisia, which then finishes first of group B for the second qualifying round of the African zone, and removed the three points of victory from Cape Verde.

Tunisia will participate in the draw for the third round on the 16/09/2013 in Cairo (Egypt). Ten African teams are qualified. Matches will be played from the 11 to the 15/10/2013 and from the 15 to the 19/11/2013. The five winners will qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (from the 12/06 to the 13/07/2013).
