Euro 2016 D -1000: "I am convinced that we are on the right track" (Michel Platini)

" I am convinced that we are on the right track to organise a beautiful, popular festival of European football in France in the summer of 2016," said Michel Platini, President of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) on the 13/09/2013, as Saturday the 14/09/2013 marks the transition to D -1 000 days before the opening match of Euro 2016.

"We are satisfied with the progress of the preparations and even though there is still a lot to be done, we see the development of the stadiums in a positive light," said the UEFA president.

"Timing is respected. The organisation team is structuring and gradually developing. The construction or renovation of the stadiums is on time. The ten host cities are mobilising to develop their presence and animation of their territory, and to host the visitors," said Euro 2016 SAS, the organiser company chaired by former prefect Jacques Lambert.
