LaLiga Santander: Germán Mugueta leaves Nike and becomes commercial director of Athletic Club Bilbao

Germán Mugueta has left the American sports equipment company Nike, and has joined Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) as the new commercial director, announced the club on 02/06/2017. "Prior to him signing for the club, Germán Mugueta was responsible for sponsorship contracts at Nike and previously responsible for sales at the American sports equipment manufacturer," said Athletic Club.

This appointment comes 12 days after the change of kit supplier to Athletic Club: the American sports equipment manufacturer New Balance succeeded Nike as the kit supplier to the Basque club (first level partnership) on 22/05/2017.

Germán Mugueta has already collaborated with Athletic Club, as he was behind the signing of the kit supplier deal between Nike and the club in 2012 for the 2013-2017 period.
