2016-17 Premier League: a cumulative audience of at least 117.34 million subscribers (Sky and BT)

The British pay-TV group Sky drew a cumulative 94.972 million subscribers for 106 of the 126 Premier League games of the 2016-17 season broadcast on the pay channel Sky Sports 1 of which News Tank Football was able to pick up the audience figures. This represents an average of 895,900 subscribers per game for these 106 broadcasts. Meanwhile, 34 of the 42 games of the 2016-17 season broadcast on BT Sport 1 drew an average of 660,000 viewers per game. In total, at least 22.37 million subscribers watched Premier League games via BT Sport.

The average audience of the 2016-17 Premier League games on the pay-TV Sky Sports channels was 14% lower than in 2015-16, according to figures from the measurement group Audience Research Board and reported by the British daily Financial Times on 11/06/2017. The average audience of the games on BT dropped only 2% during the 2016-17 season.
