Finland: MTV acquires the broadcast rights of the Champions League for the 2018-2021 period

The Finnish audiovisual group MTV has acquired the broadcast rights to the UEFA Champions League, valid in Finland, for the 2018-2021 period from the European governing body's marketing agency Team Marketing, according to UEFA documentation on 30/06/2017.

MTV, the TV rights holder for the 2012-2015 cycle, succeeds the Swedish audiovisual group MTG (Modern Times Group), which acquired the broadcast rights to the Champions League for the 2015-2018 period, valid for all platforms, on 15/04/2015.

UEFA launched the tender in Scandinavia for the TV rights of the Champions League for the 2018-2021 period on 10/04/2017. Candidates in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland were required to submit their bids no later than 08/05/2017.
