Sky Bet Championship: Leeds United buy Elland Road stadium, 13 years after selling it

Greenfield Investment Pte Ltd, a company of the Aser Group and the parent company of Leeds United Football Club Limited, has completed the purchase of Elland Road (37,890 capacity), the stadium of Leeds United FC (Sky Bet Championship), on 28/06/2017. The club have been stationed at this stadium since its foundation in 1919.

Leeds sold the Elland Road Stadium in November 2004 to the businessman Jacob Adler. The agreement provided for a 25-year lease with a buy-back option for the club. The transaction was estimated at £20m (€22.7m) according to the regional daily newspaper Yorkshire Evening Post. The annual rent paid by the club was estimated at £1.7m (€1.9m) by the English press.

"When I met with both management and supporters during my first few months at the club, the purchase of Elland Road was very high on their list of priorities and I'm delighted to be able to announce that we have completed that process today," said Andrea Radrizzani, chairman of the club.
