The Italian sports equipment brand Macron has become the kit supplier to the Federazione Italiana Rugby until 2024-25, for eight seasons, on 03/06/2017. The contract will cover all the Italian national teams, men's and women's, rugby union, the 7s, and beach rugby.

Macron will provide both sporting and lifestyle outfits to the Italian rugby teams. The collection, which will be marketed in Macron stores, specialised retailers, and in the FIR's official store (shop.federugby.it), was launched on 03/06/2017.

Macron will succeed the German brand adidas, the Italian rugby federation kit supplier for the 2012-2017 period (five seasons), who paid the federation an estimated annual amount of €2m according to Italian media. The annual amount to be paid by Macron would be between €1.5m and €2m, excluding royalties, according to Italian media.

The FIR was equipped by the Italian brand Kappa during the 2002-2012 period. The Italian federation joins its Scottish counterpart among rugby federations equipped by Macron.
