2017 Confederations Cup final: record audience in Germany, the only Top 5 European country involved

The final of the 2017 Confederations Cup, Chile - Germany (0-1, on Sunday, 02/07/2017, kick-off at 20:00 CET), drew a total of 19.54 million viewers on average in four of the Top 5 European countries (Germany, France, Spain, and England), for which the audience figures were available.

Three-quarters of the total audience were represented in Germany, on the public TV channel ZDF, which drew 14.69 million viewers on average (audience share: 42.7%), a record in Germany for a Confederations Cup match, which was previously held by the Germany - Brazil (2-3) match, a semi-final of the 2005 edition, with 12.77 million viewers on average on one of the public TV channels. This was the best figure of the competition from all four countries of the Top 5 European countries.
