Germany: Sky Deutschland launches free sports website "skysport.de" on occasion of Wimbledon 2017

Sky Deutschland has launched the sports website skysport.de, "free and mostly funded by advertising," the pay-TV group announced on 03/07/2017. This launch took place on the occasion of the beginning of the Wimbledon 2017 Grand Slam tennis tournament (from 03 to 16/07/2017), broadcast on the pay channels of the group, and whose highlights are accessible on the new site.

Skysport.de "will focus on the video content and the best moments in the portfolio of TV rights not broadcast on television," Sky Deutschland announced on 14/09/2016.

"From a marketing point of view, this is an important milestone for Sky. Through skysport.de, we are expanding the spectrum of advertising opportunities for our sports partners and we are creating a platform that supports new forms of advertising.
