Switzerland: UPC (MySports) and Swisscom (Teleclub) acquire Bundesliga TV rights from 2017-18

UPC has signed, valid in Switzerland, a partnership with the pay-TV group Sky Deutschland to broadcast the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga matches from the 2017-18 season, said the Swiss telecommunications group on 07/07/2017. UPC will broadcast the 572 matches of which Sky holds the broadcast rights to in the Bundesliga (266 matches per season) and 2.Bundesliga (306 matches per season).

"Some of the matches will be broadcast with French commentary, the remainder will be available with the original German commentary. A small number of Bundesliga football matches will be shown on the basic channel, MySports HD, while the full offer will be available with MySports Pro. Customers who do not have a MySports Pro subscription can also purchase access for individual matchdays," said the subsidiary of the Liberty Global group.

Teleclub, a pay-TV channel which belongs to the CT Cinetrade SA group (a subsidiary of Swisscom), will broadcast the remaining 40 Bundesliga matches per season of which the pay-TV group Eurosport holds the broadcast rights.
