Media: Viasat1 acquires broadcasting rights to the Premier League in Ghana for 2013/14

Ghanaian free TV-channel Viasat1 has acquired the broadcasting rights in Ghana, to the English Premier League for the remainder of the 2013/14 season, the company announced on the 12/09/2013.

Viasat1s rights include live coverage of one fixture of the English league every Saturday afternoon, and a weekly program with highlights of the 10 Premier League matches played each weekend.

Viasat1 sublicenced the rights from South African sports channel SuperSport, which holds the distribution rights to the Premier League in South Africa, Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa for the 2013/2016 period, since September 2012.

Stoke City - Manchester City (0-0, 4th day of the Premier League) was the first meeting of the 2013/14 championship broadcast by Viasat1 on the 14/09/2013.
