The 98 clubs of the European Top 5 leagues (Premier League, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA, Serie A TIM, and Ligue 1) totalled €13.4bn in turnover in 2015-16, stated the 2017 edition of the "Annual Review of Football Finance", carried out by the UK office of the audit and consulting firm Deloitte and published on 11/07/2017. The total increased by 12% compared to 2014-15 (€12bn).

The Premier League is the European Top 5 league whose clubs had the highest cumulative turnover in 2015-16, with €4.865bn (+10.6% compared to 2014-15), more than 36% of the turnover of all 98 clubs in the European Top 5 leagues. The Bundesliga ranked second with €2.712bn (+13.4%) in cumulative turnover, ahead of the Liga BBVA (€2.437bn, +18.7%), and the Serie A TIM (€1.917bn, +7%). "80% of projected total revenue growth of Europe’s 'big five' leagues between 2015-16 and 2017-18 attributable
to new broadcast rights arrangements," said Deloitte.
