"Dejan Savićević has been re-elected unanimously as president of the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG). The 50-year old, who enjoyed a distinguished career as a player, began his fifth mandate after being re-elected by acclamation at the FSCG's general assembly on 05/07/2017," stated UEFA on 06/07/2017.

The only candidate, "Savićević has been at the helm of Montenegrin football since 2004, and now he will serve a new term until 2021," added UEFA.

However, the former striker of FK Budućnost Titograd (city returned to the name Podgorica in 1992, and the club has returned to the name FK Budućnost Podgorica), Red Star Belgrade, and AC Milan "will continue to work hard to develop the country’s football," he said on 05/07/2017.

"I consider this function as a great honour and obligation. We have a number of tasks ahead of us in the next four-year period, but this support has given me great motivation to work for the prosperity of Montenegrin football," added Dejan Savićević.
