Olympique Lyonnais: Groupama acquires naming rights to Parc OL for three seasons (2017-2020)

Groupama Rhône-Alpes Auvergne, a regional subsidiary of the French insurance and banking group, has acquired the naming rights to Parc OL (59,286 capacity) for an initial period (renewable) of three seasons (2017-2020), announced the OL Groupe, the holding company of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) and the stadium, on 13/07/2017. Parc OL, inaugurated on 09/01/2016, will now hold the name Groupama Stadium. The partnership also extends to the implementation of a public commercial structure.

It is a "comprehensive, modern, and innovative partnership," said the OL Groupe. The annual estimated amount is between €5m and €7m, making it the largest naming rights contract in France, ahead of the agreement for the Palais Omnisports in Paris-Bercy (FRA), which is named AccorHotels Arena, since 2015 for 10 years (amount between €4m and €4.5m). "I hope to get €6m a year from the naming rights to the stadium for as long as possible," explained Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of Olympique Lyonnais, to News Tank Football on 12/09/2016.
