Bundesliga: Oliver Leki extended in his role as the CEO of SC Freiburg until 2021

Oliver Leki, 44 years old, has been extended in his role as the CEO of SC Freiburg (Bundesliga) "for four years, until 2021", announced the club on 08/07/2017. He will be responsible for "the finances, organisation, and marketing of the club". Jochen Saier will also continue as the sporting director for the same period.

The extension was approved by the club's supervisory board and its president, Heinrich Breit. This board, created during the restructuring of the German club in 2014, appoints the CEO and the sporting director. SC Freiburg does not have a commercial structure dedicated to their professional section, and remains under the direct supervision of the SC Freiburg e.V. association.

Oliver Leki has been the CEO of SC Freiburg since 01/10/2013. He had replaced Detlef Romeiko, who held the role since April 2008 and had resigned for health reasons. Oliver Leki was previously the CEO of 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) since 2010.
