Borussia Dortmund: Huawei will connect the Signal Iduna Park to the Wi-Fi before 2014/15

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) will equip the Signal Iduna Park (capacity: 80,500) with Wi-Fi, supplied by the Chinese IT company Huawei, the club announced on the 16/09/2013. Connectivity of the enclosure should be operational before the start of the 2014/15 season.

Huawei will provide a Wi-Fi solution that can simultaneously connect 40,000 spectators, or almost one spectator out of two. The Chinese company will equip the stadium with 900 transmitting and receiving stations.

"Huawei's technical solution for the Signal Iduna Park's Wi-Fi network will soon allow us to live a sports and entertainment experience from a whole new dimension. We will allow Internet access and exclusive content to all of our fans in the stadium," said Carsten Cramer, sales and marketing manager of Borussia Dortmund.
