Germany: TSV 1860 Munich, relegated to fourth division, will no longer play at the Allianz Arena

"The lease contract between TSV München von 1860 GmbH & Co. KGaA and Allianz Arena München Stadion GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FC Bayern München AG, has been cancelled with immediate effect. The cancellation of the contract means the Allianz Arena is no longer TSV 1860 München's home ground," said FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) on 12/07/2017.

TSV 1860 Munich, sportively relegated to the 3.Liga (3^rd division), and then administratively demoted to the Regionalliga Bayern (Bavarian regional league, 4^th division) at the end of the 2016-17 season, have played their home matches at the Allianz Arena since 2005. The lost revenue for Bayern München is estimated at €28m in total, due to the initial duration of the rental lease that linked TSV 1860 München to the Allianz Arena until 2025.

"We would like to thank the leaders of FC Bayern München for their cooperation in the discussions relating to our partnership," said Markus Fauser, managing director of TSV 1860 München, who will return to their historic venue, the Grünwalder Stadion (12,500 capacity), to kick off the 2017-18 season.
