FC Barcelona: record turnover of €708m and a net profit of €18m for the 2016-17 season

"The board of directors of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) has approved the closure of the accounts for the 2016-17 season. The results from the year show a record income in the club's history of €708m. This figure is €13m higher than what was originally budgeted, while net after tax profit is €18m," announced the club on 17/07/2017.

Reduced by €24.5m on the year, the club's debt still stands at €247m, so a ratio of 1.99 compared to the EBITDA. The wage bill for the sporting sector accounted for 66% of the club's total expenditure for the 2016-17 season.

"This week a list was published by the prestigious American magazine Forbes placing FC Barcelona as the fourth most valuable sports club in the world at €3.64bn. This is a 2% increase on last year and means the blaugranas are only behind the Dallas Cowboys (NFL), the New York Yankees (MLB), and Manchester United (Premier League)," added FC Barcelona.
