Bundesliga: Hertha BSC create a subsidiary for the stadium project in Olympiapark, due in 2025

Hertha BSC (Bundesliga) have created a subsidiary dedicated to their new stadium project "Hertha BSC Stadion GmbH", announced the German club on 07/07/2017. This subsidiary, wholly-owned by the club, will be headed by Klaus Teichert, appointed managing director of the new entity.

The mission of the company will be, "working with the Senate to discuss the economic, legal, and technical aspects of a new stadium and the possible reconstruction of the Olympiastadion. Results of these talks are expected in late spring 2018," said Hertha BSC.

Hertha BSC had presented a new stadium project (55,000 capacity) which should be built by 2025 in the Olympiapark, near the Olympiastadion (77,166 capacity), the current stadium of the club, on 30/03/2017. Construction funding will be entirely private, said the club. An alternative project, nine kilometres south of the German capital, was also selected. The contract that binds Hertha to the Olympiastadion runs until 2025.
